I have been having a great deal of difficulties with this painting for some time. I believe I have finaly found the source of the problem "Color", mainly the inability to decern the value changes while working on composition of this scale.

Solution: Return to the beginning and work on the composition as a fully realized underpaintiing. This will allow me to work on the color as transparent washes and not change the flow of movment from one section to the other. This wasnt an issue with the previous painting in this series "Nazi", due to the smaller size and more distinct subject to subject color variations. I must thank the abundence of Youtube tutorial videos for helping to spur this change in direction. I was researching old masters styles for an upcoming project when a video demonstrating the value changes for various transparent colors clicked with this current problem.
